New Contract Win: Liberty OneSteel Recycling
Recently, Wettenhalls was awarded a new contract with Liberty OneSteel Recycling in Melbourne.
The new contract involves the transportation of shredded steel from SIMS Metal in Brooklyn, Melbourne to the Liberty OneSteel site in Laverton using four dedicated High Productivity Quad Axle Tipper combinations.
Wettenhalls Run Geelong Team
Wettenhalls recently fielded a corporate team and participated in the GMHBA Run Geelong event for the third consecutive year, helping to raise funds for the Geelong hospital.
Thirty-eight people were registered under the Wettenhalls team coming from different offices, with some staff making the journey from Colac, Brooklyn and Clayton.
Spotlight on Staff: Jen Tong
We extend a very warm welcome to Jen, our new IT Analyst. Jen first joined us as an intern in August. She demonstrated an impeccable work ethic and impressed all who worked closely with her.
During her three months as an intern, she assisted with IT systems including MT Data and SharePoint. Jen also developed some excellent new IT solutions, including a new permit management system. The new system centralises the management of permits providing full visibility across the Company.

Sustainability Initiatives Lead To Massive Energy Usage And CO2 Emission Reductions
At Wettenhalls we are always looking for new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. We continue to invest in new fuel-efficient vehicles and more aerodynamic trailers as a part of our equipment program.
This year we have focused on our greening our warehouses and workshops which had metal halide lighting. We have moved to Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights in the Geelong depot, Brooklyn depot the Colac depot and the newly commissioned Colac Distribution Centre.

Another new high productivity vehicle operating under National Performance Based Standards Scheme has been deployed from our fleet. The 30m Vawdrey Quad-Quad Axle Light-weight Super B-Double Skeletal combination, along with a new Scania R560 Prime Mover is now operation with our Wharf Services Division.
