Safe & Secure

Whilst we take pride in the service we deliver to our customers, the number one priority at Wettenhalls is safety; we call it Target Zero. As part of that commitment we maintain strict compliance with all relevant State and Federal laws; indeed where possible we ensure we are above and beyond all legislated measures.

The Australian transport industry recently underwent significant change, particularly in relation to driver fatigue management. Following that change, Wettenhalls was one of the first companies to be accredited Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) status under the new regulations.

These changes, together with Mass Management requirements, have an impact on all customers within the Chain Of Responsibility legislation. Chain of Responsibility deems all participants in the supply chain to have a responsibility to adhere to the regulatory requirements. That means that despatch and receival elements of the supply chain, typically beyond the transport provider's reach, are equally accountable for regulatory compliance.

As one of the first companies to be BFM accredited, we are in a good position to ensure our customers work within all laws, regulations and jurisdictions. We work closely with all our partners and suppliers to ensure we jointly understand our respective accountabilities within Chain of Responsibility requirements.

Alongside Driver Fatigue management, environmental compliance is also demanding attention and action. Wettenhalls has become a Foundation Member of ECO - Drive for Commercial Vehicles and therefore an initiator of an e-learning programme that is intended to significantly reduce our emissions footprint.

Wettenhalls is also part of IAPs which is a voluntary programme providing heavy vehicles with access, or improved access to the Australian road network, and other benefits, in return for sharing monitored compliance data through in-vehicle monitoring. The goal of the programme is to improve road safety and asset management, as well as achieve beneficial environmental outcomes. It is hoped the scheme will drive improved productivity and turnaround times, thereby ensuring that we deliver even better service to our customers.
