Wettenhalls Statement - Channel 9 News Story - 30 July 2019
Channel 9 News aired a story on their 6pm news bulletin last night which centred on a Wettenhalls employee filming themselves whilst driving.
At the earliest opportunity after being alerted to this footage by Channel 9, Wettenhalls stood the driver down from all work duties and the Company commenced an investigation.
We will not be making any further comment on the investigation into the driver’s conduct.
Wettenhalls reiterates that the vision shown was “appalling” and once alerted we moved swiftly to identify the individual concerned and suspend him from his work duties.
Wettenhalls would like to assure other road users that we have full confidence in the professionalism of our drivers and note that the majority of the vision shown did not involve Wettenhalls vehicles being driven by the driver in question, but were vehicles belonging to another company unrelated to Wettenhalls.
