Media Release 17th May 2018

On 16th May 2018 the NSW Branch of the Transport Workers’ Union published a press release that misrepresented the facts surrounding our ongoing negotiations with our workforce over a replacement Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

The Facts
Wettenhalls commenced negotiations to replace an expired EBA on the 20th July 2016.

Since that time we have held 8 meetings with bargaining representatives of the employees including TWU NSW Branch officials.

During this period two new EBAs have been put to the vote to the relevant employees. Each EBA offered substantial pay increases and improved conditions.

The employees have rejected both EBAs put to them.

After 20 months of fruitless negotiations in February this year, the Company made an application to the Fair Work Commission to terminate the expired EBA. The application is currently with the Fair Work Commission for a decision.
