Eco-Drive for Commercial Vehicles
Wettenhalls is proud to be a foundation partner in Eco-Drive, a training program with the goal of combining fuel efficiency training with environmental sustainability education, specifically designed for drivers in the commercial road transport sector.
Currently in development in association with Linfox and sustainability specialists Andromeda, and officially endorsed by the Australian Logistics Council (ALC), initial trails of the program have already resulted in a 14% reduction in fuel costs and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. With further development it is expected that there will be up to a 20% saving.
In addition, National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System (NGERS) legislation institutes a legal imperative to cut emissions, and Eco-Drive represents a low-cost and practical opportunity to do so, indeed once the program is finalised it is expected Eco-Drive will become industry best practice.
